Your style
Trying to illustrate who I truly am in pictures is not easy! I've always loved Native Americans and the community they represent. I absolutely adore all the details of Native American life and would more than gladly dress and adorn myself as a true Native American warrior, even if it meant risking a charge of disturbing the peace!
Another style I adore is simplicity in its total purity! As a Facebook friend put it, which I really like! In other words, "No fuss (Scanian dialect) and that sort of thing"! I like straightforward, simple things!
I usually say I don't have a style, but I've understood and accepted that THAT IS ALSO a style, as a wise friend told me Mirella Rohlin
- Camilla, not having a particular style is also a style, your style!!
I am so grateful for this phrase; I immediately stopped trying to identify myself with a particular style to show who I was and what I stood for.
I have now accepted that one can have many different styles, which are surely based on the encounters one has had throughout one's life. I have lived through many encounters with people, from the dismembering murderer in Småland to the presidential family in Venezuela and the alcoholics in Värnhemstorget. If I scan the encounters with people who have passed through my life, I feel incredibly rich! I have an eye for detail but rarely remember the whole picture, which I notice is expressed in my jewelry.
I love that I've found my way to express myself through my jewelry making. Here I can give expression to the different encounters and contexts I've experienced.
